Homework help, enrichment activities, community service, family events and snacks are provided for students

This program is a Creative Arts program for students attending Windham Middle School. Additionally,   it provides homework help to the participants. This help is provided by program staff, student volunteers from Eastern Connecticut State University and certified teachers from their school day classes. The after school program provides 45 minutes of homework help. Homework help is also available outside regular homework time, for students who are struggling or falling behind on their school work.

Windham Warriors offers a variety of activities to our student participants. Based on student interest, we have provided a variety of dance classes, singing lessons, fashion workshops, art classes, cultural cooking classes and sports. We showcase the talents that our students learn in these classes during our family events. Parents/guardians, siblings, family member, school staff and members of the community are all invited to these celebrations. Each event is a point of excitement and of pride as students prepare to perform for the people they love!

Our goal is to provide students with a fun learning experience and an avenue through which they can explore new opportunities. We want students to find their passions and through those activities further develop their creativity, self-esteem, leadership skills and confidence. We strive to make each student feel special and empowered in hopes that they will realize their full potential.  Our program embraces all students in a way that makes them feel like they belong to one big family. W1ndham Warriors program will also offer Big Brothers/Big Sisiters mentoring program on Wednesdays during program hours. Mentors will be provided by ECSU and UCONN students.
