March is National Reading Month, and what better way to celebrate than picking up a favorite book and reading on Read Across America Day, which is exactly what students in Windham elementary schools did on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
Read Across America Day, also Dr. Seuss’s birthday, is celebrated nationwide. All Windham elementary schools participated in this special day in a variety of ways. Some paired it with Social Emotional Learning (SEL), some held group activities, and some had guest speakers come in to read to our students.
A big THANK YOU goes to Judge Shaikh who read to students at Windham Center School, and to the Eastern Connecticut State University Men’s Soccer team who spent time reading to students at North Windham School. We are so grateful for the community’s support of our students!
