WINDHAM – Malachi Fowler could have played football in prep school.
But he wanted to stay home and play for Windham High.
“I just wanted to play for my hometown,” he said.
Fowler, a 6-0, 230-pound junior offensive guard/middle linebacker, has been a leader this season for the Whippets, which lost a large group of seniors to graduation last year. Windham (7-3) is the third seed in the Class SS tournament and will host No. 6 Sheehan (6-4) Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal game.
