Connecticut teachers must hold a valid teaching certificate. Please keep in mind that it is the teacher’s responsibility to keep track of the expiration date of the teaching certificate and to renew the certificate.

If your certification expires, please submit an application for renewal to the Connecticut Educator Certification System (C.E.C.S) before the certificate expires.

If you are a teacher from another state or previously held a Connecticut teaching certificate and have questions regarding Connecticut certification, you can refer to the CT Bureau of Certification.
