Title IX

Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities in federally funded schools. Title IX protects students, employees, applicants for employment, and other people from all sorts of sex discrimination.

Specifically, it states that "no person in the United States shall, based on sex, be excluded from participating in, or be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal assistance."
